Big turnout for two events...

Big turnout for Pat Nolan’s annual event which went ahead a week later than expected due to the snow. This Saturday 80 cyclists took to the road. Paced to the coffee stop in Killaloe and then homeward in one of the many smaller groups with a pace to suit everyone. Thanks as always to Kinsella's Bar - Ernie's for hosting the pre and post cycle refreshments and to Flanagan's on the Lake in Killaloe for refreshments, and to all who got us home safely.

Another big turnout of club colours on Sunday at The Hub, remembering in particular Des Butler but also all cyclists who leave home on the bike and unfortunately do not return safely. Excellent work by the committee. Today was one of the best cycling days of the year with clear skies and lovely temperatures. 60km route to Newmarket on Fergus with a quick stop in Quin to replenish water bottles and strip off some layers of clothes and the back to the Hub for BBQ. Great kudos to the few who managed to support both cycles this weekend.

Saturday too was the Audax Ireland Midleton 200km – a tough day in the saddle by all accounts with wind and rain followed by even more wind and rain but no bother to C4SC. Still smiling at the end - or grimacing in pain 😀

Wednesday’s night hawks was up and running again this week – hopefully we are now finished with weather cancellations and can have a clear run in to proper training for the 2018 season. Days are getting longer, sportive season is upon us, and its almost time to cast off the winter long legs too.
