Huge amount of kms cycled!

This past week has to have been one of the most successful weeks for kms cycled by club members. Over 5,000km accounted for and we know there’s some sneaky training going in the background as well. Congratulations to everyone in the club whether this week was your first spin, your first event, first time up a hill or your first 200km. Thanks to everyone who supports us on and off the road. Don’t forget the Awareness Tour coming up on 26th June. With requests from the Neo Natal unit, the local branch of Cystic Fibrosis Association and Daughters of Charity respite home – we hope to be able to fulfil them all

Aaron, Padraig & John – The Wicklow 200k challenge – it’s not called Ireland’s Premier Cycling Challenge for nothing. Hills and more hills with a few downhills but somehow not in equal measure! 3 members = 600km. Mike O'Mara / Mike Quinn – 200km each for the Console East to West spin and Tom Kitt doing 120km at Croi Galway Cycle

Beginners and social cycle – a few members even took on the infamous (mountain) Hill Road in Bunratty. Anyone finding a few lungs lying by the roadside they probably belong to us. 23 cyclists = 1140km.

Na Piarsaigh Blood Bikes saw over 30 club members turning up and having a good workout in the 75km or 50k routes. The front group has plenty of friendly banter and mini races with the lads and lassies from Limerick Cycling Club and Club Rothaiocht na Sionna while the rest took our places in the other groups spread around the distances. 2,000km Wednesday night had another large group out everyone covering different routes = 900km
