St Patrick’s Day 2018...
St Patrick’s Day 2018 - Super Sports Saturday - a 6 Nations rugby decider, a Limerick team in the GAA club All Ireland final, and a huge gang of 25 C4SC cyclists headed off for the club spin. A mix of cyclists from the experienced, the returning from injury, those venturing out from winter hibernation along with some new members headed off together and finished up with coffees and craic in The Hub. Not content with 35km, a few of the team then took to the hills and ventured up and down twice.
Post Saturday celebrations (or may the cold temperatures) kept the Sunday spin numbers low, but still a hardy team of four headed out towards Kilmallock helped along with a handy tail wind. After a leisurely coffee stop the return journey took on a different tone with headwinds and a bit of blizzard like conditions as the snow came in. With no time to stop and build snowmen, a push for home was made resulting in a solid 90km on the clock. Well done everyone.
Next week is the infamous SRAC Atlantic Challenge Cycle – good luck to everyone taking on the challenge of the Atlantic coast in March. Fingers crossed for the good weather.
