3 spins...

All three official club spins went ahead this week with clear dry cycles. Must be a bit of a 2018 record. Wednesday’s nighthawks training suffered a mechanical when, just at the group geared up for the final last sprint and bragging rights of first home, John’s wheel rim sheared off. Like the parting of the waters, cyclists moved to the right and left and all managed to skilfully avoid collision. Good team work and safety awareness by everyone to see the situation and take defensive action so everyone got home safely.

Not sure how a broken wheel rim seems to equate to a whole new bike though 🤔 Saturday morning group saw some more cyclists coming back of hibernation and get their training started for the 2018 season while the Sunday spin was put back to 11am to allow the frost to clear off and resulted in a beautifully cold but blue skies cycle for the group who headed out.

Next week sees the infamous Pat Nolan Charity Cycle. Pat has been a member of C4SC since the start and has been instrumental in running this event for the last 18 years. Once again his chosen charities are Milford Care Centre and Limerick School for the Hearing Impaired. As always it’s a great way to start off your cycling calendar with a 50km flattish route Limerick to Killaloe via Ardnacrusha for coffee and refreshments, and returning via Birdhill and Parteen. Get out and support Pat – a local legend in supporting cycling charity events. Starting out from Kinsella's Bar - Ernie's in Thomandgate, sign up on the day.
