Fabulous weekends cycling

Some nice targets met this weekend. First century ride for many of the gang and longest ride to date for Kevin who completed the 50km in horrible conditions. Kevin set the PIETA 100 CYCLE as a target when he started with C4SC few months ago. Shows you where consistent training will get you. A very blustery wet day on the bike today for achieving milestones and a massive turnout from the club shows what a great service Pieta House provides. Excellent marshalling as always provided by BikeMarshals.ie and plenty of food in the stops and back in Mungret GAA clubhouse where the BBQ was most welcomed by the tired cyclists. Can we have the sunshine back for next year please ?

From one end of the country to another – in Cork Pat O’Hara completed the Sport Ireland Rebel Tour , in Wexford Padraig O’Connor took on another 200km Audax, while in Antrim Aaron and John Murphy took on the Giant's Causeway Sportive.

With more and more cyclists on the road and with the darker days coming in, it’s vital to be seen. Lights front and rear are a must along with a high viz jacket. Cheap to buy but invaluable pieces of safety equipment. No excuses why everyone doesn’t have these at all times
