Congratulations!!
Congratulations to Gabriel Hartnett for taking on the Kilkee "Hell of the West" Triathlon for the second year in a row and knocking 7 minutes off his 2016 time. As always, Kilkee dished up some choppy seas and windy cycle segments with the 10km run up Dunlicky Hills the final tester for tired bodies.
Saturday Leisure group headed out at a later time of 11am to allow the rugby supporters time to watch the Lions vs All Blacks match. Hopefully next week will bring a better result.
Sunday Group 1 took a Trip to Tipp and proved the song was right. It’s a Long Way to Tipperary – 145km round trip for a coffee and a scone! Group 2 headed in the opposite direction and took to Clare and covered the roads of Newmarket on Fergus and Latoon before heading back in through Shannon – unfortunately, there was no ice cream van at the top of the hill this week ☹️
Next Weekend sees the annual pilgrimage to Killarney for the 180km Ring of Kerry. For some it will be their first time tackling this event, for others it will be time to revisit the scenery, hills and general craic that the ROK brings. Enjoy it – stay safe and have a good day out.
