Huge Congratulations to all
So who should get the big kudos this week? the 150km team on the Tour de Burren with Paul taking KOM on the 86km stage to the food stop (shows just how good the food stop was)? The leisure Saturday group for recruiting more new members – is it one a week at this stage? The ladies at the Tour de Burren on their first sportive in club colours? Pat O'Hara and David Ryan for taking on the 300km Vätternrundan challenge in Sweden (though strava reliably informed us they only did 299.2km !!) ? The 100km group who took on the Tour de Burren’s Wall of 19%? Kevin who cycled his 11th Wyeth Askeaton Touring Club's event (he did start at 10 yrs old)?
Maybe Valerie Dunne, who after surviving the Burren's "Wall" ended up having to cycle 40km to finish line with a broken saddle ? Or John "McGyver Dunne" who came up with inventive ways of fixing mechanicals. The sunday groups went out this weekend as usual - group 2 taking advantage of the sunshine and got in lots of leisurely stops for ice creams (who can resist a 99) and even paid Durty Nelly's a visit.
Also this week the table quiz in aid of Enable Ireland was held to purchase stability bikes. A great night was had in O’Driscols Pub in Corbally and while none of the C4SC teams won the table quiz, the haul of spot prizes from the raffle means there’s wine, chocolates and romantic candles in Aaron McGlade’s house this weekend.
The 2lads2events challenge now successfully completed. Massive congratulation to Aaron McGlade and Andrew Hamilton with support crew of Jason Enright and Bobby McGlade.
