C4SC everywhere!

The Saturday leisure group enjoyed the sunshine in Bunratty. while another gang tackled the very windy and very hilly 2017 West Limerick Endurance 125 in aid of CRY in Monagea. Thanks to Desmond Sportive CC for a great event, very well run and challenging event. Then it was time to ditch the bike, lace up the runners and take to the streets of Limerick for the Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick

Run (or in Aaron’s case, the streets of Belfast for the Belfast City Marathon). Our roving photographers didn’t catch everyone for photo gallery this week but a massive congratulations to all. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was brilliant, there were supporters all along the route calling out words of encouragement, and the whole of Limerick should be well proud of the name of City of Sport with over 13,000 people taking to the streets over 3 different distances. It’s an event which has seen many people take their first steps into sport and fitness and its great to see the numbers of runners and walkers cross over the finish line with smiles on their faces at accomplishing their goals.

Also happening locally this week is the Cycle Against Suicide which will be passing through Limerick on Tuesday – well done to everyone taking part in this event too. Leisure Saturdays and Mondays continue each week and with Declan away for a cycling break, it falls to Philip to take up the Road Captaincy armband for this week. No pressure now Philip :)

Next Saturday features Club Rothaíochta na Sionainne's Cycle for Ethan & MPS. With a choice of 30k or 70k, there is something for the beginner to the experienced cyclist, always a good craic so join us there. For those looking for a bit of climbing training prior to the ROK, head to The 3 climbs cycle in Killarney again with a choice of distances.
