Leisure group going great!

Storm Ewan tried to put a stop to cycling this weekend but the weekend leisure group managed to find a break in the weather for a Saturday morning fairly wet but enjoyable spin. Thanks to Declan and his helpers who guided everyone around safely. Coffee afterwards in The Hub was well deserved for the 17 who ventured out. Some more new members joined us this week – if you would like to give cycling in a group a try, meet new friends or get fitter, join our leisure group every Saturday morning leaving from Woodies on the Ennis Road at 9am.

With the Sunday spin cancelled due to high winds and heavy rains making the roads a bit too slippy and greasy, the runners ventured out instead with members attending the Adare 10k and the Run Clare - Michael Egan Memorial 5 Mile instead. The coastline gave a very picturesque and hilly run in Quilty but the traditional Atlantic winds were very evident. Congrats to everyone who ventured out this weekend. The roads were extremely wet – better weather is coming !!!!

Next weekend the club will be supporting the annual Pat Nolan Cycle. With Cliona's Foundation this year’s beneficiary, this is Pat’s 17th year running the event and unbelievably, it has never rained on the day so expect the same again next week. 10am kick off from Kinsella's Bar - Ernie's in Thomondgate for a 50km return route to Killaloe.
