Great achievements

Mayo became the playground for some club members this weekend for the Westport Sea 2 Summit adventure race. Not an event to be taken lightly, 4km run - 8km cycle - hike up and down Croagh Patrick, followed up by an 11km (or 35km depending on the event level) cycle and finishing up with a 4km run. I’m just tired typing this up!! Heartiest congratulations to Grainne O’Brien and Brian Hehir who took on the longer Supreme Event. John Dunne Valerie Dunne Clair & CP Ducie who took on the Spirit event for their first adventure race with much encouragement from experienced S2S racer Robert Noone. Well done everyone. It was a massive achievement just committing to getting to the start line but to reach the finish line - amazing.

After Friday’s torrential rain, Saturday was bright and clear and the leisure group continued their good weather streak. Believe it or not, that has been 8 solid months of decent weather on Saturday mornings. More clear dry weather for the Sunday group who took off from Raw Cycles Limerick heading to Ballingarry before the different abilities split as they headed for home.
