Kids Cycling Summer Camp – A Huge Success

It was another hectic week for team C4sc, words like epic, fantastic, carnage and excellent were used to describe our Cycling Summer camp for kids aged between 4 and 12 at the delta retail park. We had 45 kids signed up for the SUBWAY Sprocket Rocket Skills Award Programme. The camp covered skills such as pedalling, balance, cornering and braking. It was a fantastic 3 days and each participant was presented with a certificate of excellence at the end. Well done to all the kids for completing the program and to our coaches who put in a mighty effort over the 3 days.

On Tuesday our beginners / improvers cycle continued from LIT where we had another good turnout. Again we covered just over 30km at a reasonable pace. Well done to all.

On Thursday the club continued its TT from the old Dublin Road. Again a good turnout with some new faces taking part. The fastest time on the evening was recorded by Stephan Teeling Lynch, who gave an exhibition in the art of time trialling. Next week should be interesting, with some big names in the local cycling scene turning out, it should be epic.

Our Sunday spin headed into west limerick over 70k, and we got the best of the day with sunshine all the way. We had another good turnout with some new members experiencing the Sunday spin for the first time. Well done to all the turned out.

This week our beginners spin takes place on Tuesday from LIT at 7pm sharp. Our TT continues from the old Dublin road on Thursday at 7pm sharp and our Sunday spin takes place from Pier One on Sunday at 8.30am.
