C4Ssc Club Launch “A great success”

On Saturday last Cycle 4 Sick Children Launched as a cycling club in The Pier One bar Sarsfield Bridge .

The Club now approaching a massive 70 members took part in the Limerick Lourdes charity cycle on a very cold windy saturday morning.It was the first 100k that the riders had taken part in and showed no affects on a tough route as the team powered home in great fashion .11 riders took part in the event which was very well run by Finbarr Brougham who later cut the ribbon on the club launch .Pier One provided the perfect setting were the club was happy to fly the flag and become apart of the European City of Sport 2011,The Team proudly display the city of sport logo on our club jacket and have the “Sporting Limerick” logo on all their team wear . It’s very important that we highlight Limerick has the superb city of sport ,Elaine Barry spoke on behalf of the Limerick City Sports partnership about how the club have progressed in such a short time. Finbarr Broughman from Shannon development cut the ribbon to launch the club .Finbarr himself is a cycling guru and we had also very kind words from our chairman Graham Tuohy who spoke about young Sophie Mulcahy being the founder member .Sean Curtin was on hand to take fantastic pictures as usual for the club.Thanks to all the staff in the Pier for providing the perfect area and service that can’t be matched in the city .So now we are launched we are back on the road next sunday we will be taking the time back to an earlier start of 08:30am .Thanks to all the members for their continued support and a big THANKS to all the local club for showing their support on the launch night . Hope to see all the club memebers on the St Patrick’s day parade .
